Unless explicit contractual agreements dictate otherwise, all spot quotes and contract rates provided by Heartbeat Freight are subject to the standard baseline tariff definitions, accessorial windows, and penalty rates structured below.
Heartbeat Freight grants a standard of two (2) hours of free time for both loading and unloading operations. Free time begins precisely at the scheduled appointment time or the actual time of arrival (ATA), whichever is later.
Accessorial Rate: Beyond the standard 2-hour window, detention will be structured at $75.00 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. Caps are subject to carrier ceilings.
If a dispatched truck is canceled by the Shipper or Customer within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled pickup window, or if the load is canceled after a driver has physically rolled to the pickup point, a TONU fee will instantly apply.
Standard Rate: $250.00 base rate for standard Dry Vans and Reefers. Specialized flatbeds, heavy haul, or expedited setups may incur higher custom carrier liabilities.
In situations where a facility prevents a driver from being loaded or unloaded on the calendar day of their appointment, shifting delivery timelines to the following business day, a standard layover fee is applied to protect carrier assets.
Standard Rate: $350.00 to $500.00 per night, depending heavily on temperature-control requirements (reefer fuel management) and regional operational margins.
All baseline spot linehaul rates do not inherently insulate fluid fuel costs. Fuel surcharges are adjusted weekly, tethered directly to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Average Diesel Fuel Index values published every Monday.
Any routing modifications requested mid-transit, including terminal additions or consignee address shifts, must be authorized explicitly in writing via an updated Broker Rate Confirmation. Extra route deviation miles are calculated at standard structural lane pricing plus out-route fees.
